Lee Jae-hee Named New President and CEO of KEPCO NF

A proven professional in Electric Energy Industry with his background in KEPCO Seoul Division as Executive Vice President

Speech to build the basis of Creativity Management through Innovation and Communication

KEPCO NF has selected Lee Jae-hee, now 59, the former executive vice president of KEPCO Seoul Division, as its new president and chief executive officer at a special shareholders meeting on January 28 and held a welcome ceremony.

Prior to joining KEPCO NF, Mr. Lee has been spent the past two years at KEMC, Korea Electrical Manufacturers Cooperative, serving as executive vice president since 2012. It is known that he is a proven professional in electric energy industry who started his career at KEPCO, Korea Electric Power Corporation, in 1979 after he received his Bachelor of Science degree from Hanyang University majoring in electrical engineering. He stayed with KEPCO for more than 30 years mainly serving as a head and vice president of local district divisions such as Seoul, Busan-North, Samcheok. He was executive vice president of Seoul district division during his last tenure at KEPCO before he joined KEMC.

In his inaugural speech, the new leader of KEPCO NF stated, “I will build the basis of creativity management through innovation and communication, and for the growth to jump up to a global enterprise promoting successful new projects; and carry out social responsibility by practicing ethical management; while nurturing the talent of tomorrow and providing work environment for R&D to acquire growth engine for the future, and organizing a future-oriented corporate culture as well.” He also stressed the importance of “united voices and energy of executives and staffs to be global KNF”.

KEPCO NF began the recruitment process for the new CEO in January 2014 and finally named Lee Jae-hee at the shareholders meeting with the result from the committee of CEO recommendation. Mr. Lee, who is inaugurated today, will assume his role for the next 3 years until 2017.
